Spider veins, or telangiectasias, are tiny purple and red blood vessels on the leg, anywhere from the top of the thigh to the ankle.

Occasionally, spider veins appear on the face. A solution is injected into the vein causing the vein to blanch (turn white), the gradually disappear. A typical treatment may consist of multiple injections. These treatments may be received in three-week intervals.
